hello, how have you been? I Believe if you are reading this, God has kept you and there is something to be thankful for! I have an interesting story I want to share with you about watches, mine and that of my son Fijinoluwa. It’s a brilliant story, you will be glad you heard about it!
Missing Watches
For a few weeks my son’s watch had gone missing. I had no idea where we dropped it. You know how it is when something like this goes missing and you can’t just seem to find it, finally you just leave things be and hope to stumble on it some day in the house. Well that was my approach. I figured we would finally get to see it lying around. It did not cost that much anyways so If i had to I could replace it.
Fast forward sometime later and then I could not find my watch anymore. Oh dear! this was a bit different. My husband bought this watch for me and it cost a whole lot more than my son’s watch. I didn’t mention it to my husband. I didn’t want him to know I was searching for my watch. I really didn’t want to deal with his response, lol!. Well, I took the same approach and decided I will stumble upon it some day soon. It had been taking a while though……oops!.
Talking to Dad
I was praying yesterday in my garage in the early hours of the morning from about 5am. I like to spend this time with Dad because it is just us and no distractions.
While meditating and praying in the Spirit, He led me to focus on the name of Jesus. I got reminded of a video i recently watched where I saw a preacher whom I respect a lot use the name of Jesus practically. It was the 2nd time I was seeing a minister be so very practical with the name and have results happen right there and then. He commanded in the name of Jesus and it was so.
I told Dad I want to understand how to use the name of Jesus properly, I knew i needed to increase in my awareness and understanding of the power and authority in the name. There was so much I could do to help people better when I use the name efficiently. I knew it was important to Him that we understand the power and authority in the name.
Here are a few scriptures that point this out.
1John 3:23
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
Ephesians 2:9-10
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Back To The Watches
Right, so back to the watches!, you are probably thinking how does all this connect with the watches? Well as I went ahead to keep talking about the name of Jesus. I remembered my missing watch. I said to God, Father, I know you’ve told me practice makes perfect. I really want to see more happen when I use the name for your glory. I said Father can we practice this today?
He immediately reminded me about David and how he slew the bear , and the lion before he faced Goliath and by doing this he further reinforced my thoughts about practicing to get confident about my use of the name.
So can you guess where I started from? MY WATCH!!!!! It was really my watch I had in mind because I had long since forgotten about Fijinoluwa’s watch.
So I looked up the scripture that came to heart again about the name of Jesus and its availability to me.
John 14:14
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
I then went on to say “Father i ask that today I will see my watch in the name of Jesus”.
The day gradually came to a close and as I was walking across my room to my bathroom, all of a sudden, my eyes were drawn ( and i mean this literally, because it felt this way) to the tiny space inbetween my dressing table and my bedside table, there was lying hidden away Fijinoliuwa’s watch! yaaaay!!!!. I said Father thank you. I did however say, thanks but what about mine??? as I wasn’t even expecting Fiji’s watch.
Do you know what he said? ” One down, one to go”…wow!!! amazing, with gratitude in my heart, I went on with an expectant heart.
This morning, I was getting ready for the day, had my bath and thought through what to wear. I settled for a pair of denim trousers. So i picked it out and began to wear it and all of a sudden i felt something in my left pocket!!!! MY WATCH!!!!!!!
Tears came to my eyes, i said Father thank you so much. Not only did you show me where my watch was, you showed me fiji’s watch and i didn’t even ask for that one.
He said, i do “exceedingly, abundantly far above all you can ever ask or imagine” Ephesians 3:20
I decided to share this story with you to let you know THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS My prayer is that we will all continue to increase in the knowledge of who we are and what have in Jesus Christ as joint heirs of God, IN THE NAME OF JESUS! AMEN!.
Love,
Nkiru

Nkiru, this is so true and how I have learned this over the years! When I can’t find something or need help I simply ask my Abba to show me and guide me my request that is always prayed for in the name of Jesus Christ. Just this week I was reminded of the scripture that supports this and how important it is to live each day in continuous prayer. My days are now amazing and have no stress! I put each day in God’s hands and wait!! Oh how I find myself trying to take control at times and have to remind myself of surrender and acceptance of God’s timing! Thank you for your words and sharing your faith ❤️
