Hi, over the last 5 years, God has been teaching me about the need for mind renewal that leads to the transformation He wants in us. Mind renewal is so key to becoming all you were created to become. Mind renewal takes you from a point A to a destination point B. Let me explain, have a look at this scripture.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
To get from point A to point B is the process of transformation. Okay so Dr Nkiru, what is point A and what is point B and why is this relevant to me? Point A is where you are when you get born again. Point B is your destination. It is your destiny.
Point B Your Destination, Your Destiny
I need to emphasize the importance of point B because this is your destination, your destiny, your call, the whole essence of why you were created. This destiny is spelt out and it is glorious. Let me show you.
Romans 8:29 (KJV) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
God has predestined you to become like Jesus. This is God’s purpose for you. Man is a spirit, he has a soul which is the centre of his mind will and emotions and he lives in a body. When you got born again, your spirit was recreated in Christ. Right now you have the Spirit of Christ. You are just like him. That’s why Christ is not ashamed to call us brothers, Hebrews 2:11. We have the same make up. We are in all truth the sons of God, begotten of God. We are gods. Our minds however, need to be reengineered to this new identity and our bodies made to follow this new mindset.
Psalm 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods, And all of you are children of the most High.
Why is Mind Renewal so Important?
To live and manifest as Sons of God that we are, to walk in the full manifestation of who we are as gods, to walk as Jesus did on the earth, our minds, our thinking, our throught processing, our intelligence, our decision making, the way we process information needs to be inspired, directed, coordinated, led, driven, by the very Words of God. To the extent that we renew our minds is the extent to which we become transformed. The original word used in the bible to describe transformation in that passage is “metamorphosis”. When we renew our minds, we would be living in the reality of the new creation that we are. We would walk like Jesus walked on the earth.
This process of mind renewal takes you from living as a child in the kingdom to living as an HEIR in the kingdom here on earth. You begin to know who you are, what you have, what you can do, why you are here, what your purpose is. It is a beautiful journey, very exciting. Point B continues, you keep going on and on, becoming more and more like him.
5 STEPS TO MIND RENEWAL
I have come to understand that the pathway to getting your mind renewed or restructured or rewired is to go through these 5 steps:
BEHOLD BELIEVE, THINK, SPEAK , BECOME.
Behold the word of God, believe it, think on it, speak it and you’ll become it
1.BEHOLD
2Corinthians 3:18 But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
God opened my eyes to the scripture above. Amazing revelation for me. He showed me that when I stare at his glory I TRANSFORM into the image I see. He also showed me that when I stare or behold, I am looking through a glass, a glass here being a mirror. This means I am looking at myself when i see his glory! Wow!. Then He said to BEHOLD his glory is to BEHOLD Christ. This is because Christ is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person Hebrews 1. Now to BEHOLD Christ is to behold the Word, because Christ is the Word.
For transformation to occur, you need to SEE, BEHOLD, ENVISION. What you SEE you BECOME.
You need to see with the physical eyes and the eyes of your imagination. When you read the scriptures, you need to envision what you are reading, to see God is saying to you.
I want to encourage you, to start with your identity. Go into the word and see who God has made you. Get the full view of it. I believe once your mind is RENEWED to your identity everything else begins to unfold.
You were born by God and you are just like Christ, now BEHOLD who Christ is and see yourself begin to transform to live as the HEIR and god that you are.
