Don't Stop Learning Until You Understand

Have you had that moment in your life when something you’ve always heard SUDDENLY makes sense! And you are like, “Ah! Is that what it’s been saying since” ! It’s like oh wow I get it now! “. It reminds me of when I was a child I grew up singing so many songs not knowing what I was saying until one day it made sense lol!. E.g I sang, “dalinjesus” as one word for many years until I realised I was expressing love to Jesus by saying “darling Jesus” . . Or moments when you’ve heard scriptures for years then one day you shout and say “what! Is that what it’s been saying all this while!?” . Friends, what happened in both of these examples is that there was a transition from LEARNING to UNDERSTANDING .

According to Dr Caroline Leaf a notable person in the area of neuroscience, she describes LEARNING as indicating thinking and building USEFUL MEMORY with UNDERSTANDING.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE LEARN?

When we receive new information, we build THOUGHTS which are PHYSICALLY represented by proteins called dendrites that form networks in our brains. When we revisit these thoughts by thinking on them over and over and engaging with them consistently, we convert these thoughts from short term memory into long term memory. Long term memory is represented by well formed dendritic networks in our brains.
.This longterm memory is memory that has become USABLE and USEFUL because it results in the required neurochemical and structural changes in the brain that makes it so..This is the point where UNDERSTANDING is reached..It will take at least 63 days of repeatedly thinking about new information everyday to build these longterm usable, useful memory. Of course the more you continue to engage with these thoughts the more powerful they work for you..If you do not revisit the information, the proteins formed break down and becomes useless to you.

Don’t Stop LEARNING the WORD until you UNDERSTAND

When we apply what we’ve discussed above, we can see that every truth from scripture that has been received but not UNDERSTOOD is not working for us..This is why Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:8That the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened.

Attentive ears to our teacher, the holy spirit….

Until UNDERSTANDING comes ….

Eg. Don’t give up on healing because you didn’t see it happen, learn more, interact more, discuss more about it.

Don’t give up on marriage

Don’t give up on prosperity

Don’t give up on your call

Don’t give up on your children

Don’t give up on the gifts of the Spirit

Don’t give up on anything that you heard in the word that excited you and gave you hope, stick with it until UNDERSTANDING comes and works POWERFUL RESULTS in your life.

Above all, press in to UNDERSTANDING Walking in the LOVE OF GOD.
