Recently I was having a conversation with Abba God and I was saying to him, from a place of desiring more than where I was, “daddy i should be a lot stronger than this by now!, I should be more capable than this!, by now i should have seen this and done this and infact daddy I haven’t even raised the dead yet! lol! Yes that is something I can say. If you are like me, then you are someone that believes the bible totally, so yes i expect to be and do all it says I am and i can do respectively.
A desire for more
I was experiencing a sense of impatience with myself, I desired more, especially as some scriptural truths I had received understanding about and used with results did not seem to be producing results like before. For example, I had an awakening to my identity in Christ in recent times like never before and i began to experience supernatural things happen as I walked in this reality, but after a while things began to slip back into the previous normal and I did not want this, so i began to pray along these lines.
Abba God’s Response
So on a certain day, I asked Abba what I was missing, and what I needed to do. I heard so gently in my spirit “Practice Makes Perfect”. I thought wow! thats so true daddy. A number of scriptures began to light up and I’ll share below.
1.Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Philipians 4:9 (Berean Study Bible)
2.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:29 (Kjv)
3. But ye have not so learned Christ;
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus
Ephesians 4:20-32
But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Hebrews 5:14
It’s a Learning Process!
It dawned on me in a new way….CHRIST IS LEARNT, hence the continuous process of mind renewal.
Living out the fullness of who we have become in Christ will involve as with every process of learning, the following:
- TIME FOR GROWTH
- REVISITING OF KNOWLEDGE
- PRACTICE
- PATIENCE
- CONSISTENCY
- FOCUS
The life we have inherited as HEIRS OF GOD is learnt. The more we know, the more we understand, the more we understand the more we are able to manifest who we have become.
Heir of God, be patient with yourself, keep learning, keep practicing, keep training, and watch yourself grow and become all you have been called to be.
